- My family and I have enjoyed backpacking in the valley of
Pine Creek, near Buena Vista, Colorado.

Mt. Harvard, the third-highest peak in Colorado, is located near the town of
Buena Vista.

The most prominent peak in the upper left center of the
picture is La Plata Peak (elevation 14,336 ft.). The peak near Harvard in the
center is Mt. Belford (elevation 14,167 ft.). On the horizon, the second
peak from the right-hand edge is Mt. Elbert.
- Mt. Elbert (elevation 14,433 ft.), the
highest peak in Colorado, seen from the north. The town closest to Mt. Elbert
is Leadville (elevation 10,200 ft.).

La Plata, is the silhouette of Mt. Harvard.

1½ miles south of the summit of Mt. Massive, near Leadville, Colorado.

family picture was taken circa 1935.
